I genuinely wanted BookLocker to work out, but it turned into a long and frustrating process. From the start, things felt unorganized, with unclear timelines and mixed communication. I was often left guessing about the status of my project because updates were rare unless I followed up myself. Even then, responses felt rushed and didn’t fully address my concerns. The work that was delivered lacked refinement and attention to detail, which was disappointing after all the waiting. Simple issues took far too long to resolve, and some were never properly fixed at all. What bothered me most was the lack of accountability there was never a clear explanation when things went wrong, just excuses or silence. By the end of it, I felt drained and regretful for choosing this service. I expected guidance, professionalism, and reliability, but unfortunately, this experience fell short on all three.
I am quite dissatisfied with the $600 I paid for their cover design service. The cover totally disregarded my brief and had a generic, uninspired appearance. The majority of my complaints were never addressed, despite their promises of improvements. The final product was useless, and it seemed like they were hurrying to get paid.
We paid $950 for their proofreading and editing service, expecting professional-level quality. Unfortunately, the results were extremely disappointing. They claimed my manuscript was thoroughly edited, yet I still found grammar mistakes, spelling errors, and awkward sentences throughout the book. It looked like a rushed job with minimal effort put into it. When I raised concerns, they defended their work instead of fixing the issues properly. For the price I paid, I expected high standards, but what I received was nowhere near professional. I would not trust them again.
I paid $1,200 for their ebook distribution service, expecting my book to be listed properly across major platforms. What I got instead was weeks of silence and zero transparency.
They promised placement on multiple retailers, but my book was missing from several platforms even after months. When I contacted them, they kept blaming system delays with no real explanation or solution. I had to personally chase them for updates, which should not be the client’s job after paying this much.
This service felt careless and disorganized. I honestly feel like my money was wasted for something I could’ve done myself for free.
